Barking Up the Wrong Tree

YESTERDAY I consulted a friend who is an immigration lawyer and she said it would be very risky to accept the offer from SoCal because the employer is not 100% cap exempt. I've realized that I've been barking up the wrong tree all this time. Well, at least a lot of wrong trees. Now it doesn't quite matter how many applications I've sent. What will matter is how many I send to the right employers. My targeted application process has just become more, well, targeted. The clock is ticking and part of me is kind of scared. But the other part is unfreezing.

Ms. N is from the Philippines, is crazy about bikes, scuba diving, choral music and sushi. She spent 8 months looking for a full-time job full-time, finally found one and would like to share what she has learned about the American job market to international students.

Ms. C is from Jakarta, Indonesia. Friends and family are the most important to her. Therefore, C has finally come back to her friends and family in Jakarta and is adapting to her first job as a Business Development officer at a Multifinance company. She has also secured a Singapore PR status that needs to be followed up by a Singaporean based job within one year. Here, she will tell her story at finding her place in the world.

Ms. W is from Zhejiang, China and she likes flinging frisbees at people, drives a very old but trusty American car and likes to order Chinese food take out. Unlike Ms. N and Ms. C, Ms. W is not looking for a job. She will continue with graduate studies in the East Coast.
